Mr. Akwetee Watkins

Position on Team: Head Coach

Occupation: Physics Teacher

Education/Background: Akwetee Watkins earned his B.S. in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech and his Masters in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic. Prior to coming to the WiredCats, he worked in Aerospace engineering for 14 years designing jet engines.

Dr. Shaffiq Welji

Position on Team: Assistant Coach

Years of Involvement in FIRST: 5

Occupation: Geometry/Algebra Teacher

Education/Background: Shaffiq Welji holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Columbia University. Prior to coming to the WiredCats he worked in a variety of capacities in educational development internationally and in the United States, including at the Aga Khan Academy in Mombasa, Kenya.

Ms. Megan Hayes-Golding

Position on Team: Assistant Coach

Years of Involvement in FIRST: 4

Occupation: Physics Teacher

Education/Background: Megan Hayes- Golding holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Engineering from Auburn University where she was named the Outstanding Graduate and graduated cum laude. Prior to coming to the WiredCats she co-oped at NASA Kennedy Space Center, worked as a factory automation engineer, and as a technical writer, and taught at various Georgia schools.

Ms. Meghan Bjork

Position on Team: Assistant Coach

Years of Involvement in FIRST: 4

Occupation: Physics Teacher

Education/Background: Meghan Bjork earned her B.A. in Physics from Gustavus Adolphus College in Minnesota and her MAT in Science Education from the University of Iowa. Prior to coming to the WiredCats she taught Physics and AP Physics B and C in Colorado.
